Happiness 24

What is happiness? It's simply being alive"

Here's what happiness looks like for a human being: We think more. We have more energy. We're motivated by the desire to be better. We have greater self-esteem. We're happier about ourselves.

If happiness existed in a vacuum, we'd do exactly the same as animals.

But there are two key things that animals do differently from the average people. For starters, they have the capacity to feel pleasure. In fact, our own brain is wired to respond to a variety of pleasurable stimuli including pain. This ability is what makes us human. This means that when it comes to happiness, it is actually more important than our brain's natural inclination.
