Happiness 35

What is happiness?

There is no true, unending happiness,

For only the present life is the best.

But that will be better to-morrow;

There, to-morrow, all is well.

There is no true, unending happiness;

For only the present life is the best.

And if you want a little more happiness

Think just how long it takes you to grow

A little richer for being the same.

And then you will feel that happiness is well-endowed

With all that wealth does not afford.

It is the best of pleasures, and so is well-endowed with riches

Which never grow old and grow small like gold.

To-morrow you will never be unhappy,

And you will never be poor.

And if to-morrow comes like a new dawn

That will be happy too, and you will soon feel

To-morrow will never be different, and there will never be a day.
